A sterling silver chain made from two vintage chains with a multi-hoop and star-studded shackle, and a quartz with specks of chlorite sprinkled in it. It is capped in sterling silver and is a stunning stone, shimmers with mystery and fizz like an effervescent vitamin, aiding in health and giggles.

This is a left-field piece - a neurodivergent magical object. Quartz amplifies energy and intention, making it a powerful companion for clarity, focus, and spiritual alignment, always thinking laterally, helping you grow and succeed outside the boundaries of what we're told is possible. And this particular quartz is a happy one. Protective and enhancing, it works with whatever you need to focus on - and brings the energy of a cheery best friend who will laugh with you and at you, and always, always show up. Quartz is natural and unhurried, its pale clarity scattered with tiny specks of chlorite - little flashes of deep green caught inside the stone like an ancient forest. Quartz is long thought of as an amplifier, a stone that sharpens intention and brings clarity to the mind, while chlorite is considered deeply connected to the earth, to healing, and to growth. Together they make a quietly powerful pairing.

In Wales, one of the links between faeries and trees is the connection between the oak and the tylwyth teg. At Nant y Glo in Aberystruth parish, Monmouthshire, an important early ironworks was established, and before coal was used for smelting the industry relied heavily on wood, leading to widespread deforestation of the surrounding hills and valleys.

Before this deforestation, local faeries — known as y tylwyth teg yn y coed (the fair folk of the wood) — were believed to live within and protect these ancient forests. They were rarely seen far from the trees and were especially associated with gathering beneath the female oaks. It was said that anyone who cut down these trees would suffer severe consequences: either dying or experiencing a mysterious, incurable pain.

This talisman feels like it holds a little of this fae magick — glittery greens from deep within the earth, its lightness evoking summer trees and feelings of growth with groundedness. Y tylwyth teg yn y coed have got your back, even if they are well cheeky!
