I've spent the last week wandering through the cedar forests of the Northwest Peninsula. As I curl up beneath my new wool blanket (its very cosy), I realise it's time to upload a few new pieces to Smith & Sun. It seems only fitting to begin with this stunning antler talisman.
A foraged antler capped in silver - swingin off a section of vintage chain with a sterling silver carabiner - Named after: "Shishigami" the forest spirit (the supreme protector of the Cedar Forest) from Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke.
The antlered stag represents wisdom, nobility, and protection, and has long been linked to the yearly cycle of death and rebirth - likely inspired by its natural shedding and regrowth. When you use antlers in a spiritual practice, you join a tradition stretching back at least 10,000 years, honoring the animals and the living world we share with them.
This can be worn around the neck, a belt loop, key chain or even slung off a bag - multi mix n match talismans are my abolsulte fav as we all wear things differntly.
