These black Tourmalines are mounted on brass caps, each with a brass shackle, and will pair well with any chain or cord. Black and gold are a classic pairing!!!

As you may know, I have a profound love for tourmalines —  these black ones particularly are formidable guardians - powerful super-cleansers, grounding, empowering, and protecting those who seek its energy. They dispel dark energies, creating a sacred space that welcomes in the light, luck, and prosperity — and we all need a bit of that right now.

With their remarkable ability to slice through spiralling or repetitive negative thoughts, they guide you to listen to and trust your inner voice. For those navigating the challenges of anxiety (and I speak from personal experience), black tourmaline becomes a loyal ally, acting as a mystical shield against energy vampires. They also look as though they've been lifted up from the earth's core. Love them craggy chunks of raw goodness.

Then we turn to brass. Alloys don't get as much focus as pure metals in magic. The usual line seems to be that "alloys embody the magical combination of their metals." But to what degree, and how? There's also the notion that since naturally occurring alloys are rarer than pure metals, a metal that requires human manipulation to produce has diluted magical power. I don't think that's true. Intentional creation is powerful.

Brass was introduced around 500 BC and is made from an alloy of copper and zinc. It has metaphysical healing properties to boost the immune system and help eliminate toxins in the body. It's also good for skeletal problems. It is known to give courage. Repeated wearing of brass jewellery pieces will cause them to take on your own body chemistry, revealing your personal energy signature. It oxidises green (vert-de-gris) from long exposure to chemicals, sweat, perfume, and air - but if you know me, i kind love patina. the more the merrier.

Though these have a fairly stable crystal structure, it is always best practice to handle them gently. Cleanse in the sun for a few hours, or in the moonlight overnight — or, if you have a selenite plate, that would be perfect.

To one, I've added a bronze sea urchin fidget, which can be kept as part of a necklace or deconstructed and worn as a ring (UK Size K). These rings are designed for self-soothing. Combining a rich organic texture with the ability to spin around the finger, nodules on the inside of the ring create a gentle soothing sensation for anxious fingers and minds.

These are chunky chunky peices - not for the faint hearted!!
