This solid sterling silver amulet is a sand cast of Medusa on a thin silver chain. I love this so much, I made myself a similar one, which I never take off - you have prob seen it swingng around me neck - I find them to be powerful amulets.
Medusa stands as one of Greek mythology’s most misunderstood figures. Medusa is not merely a monster of myth - she is a witch-woman, a sacred guardian, and a symbol of feminine power long misunderstood. In some texts she was once a mortal of extraordinary beauty (in others she was born Gorgon)and was desecrated by Poseidon in the temple of Athena. But it was Medusa, not her attacker, who was punished - transformed by divine wrath into a Gorgon crowned with serpents, her gaze turned into a curse that could petrify, turningthe male gaze back onto itself.
Exiled and feared, she became untouchable - not by weakness, but by sheer force. Her power, born of violation, became her shield. She lived at the edge of the world, wild and unruled, a creature of deep magick and ancient rage.
When Perseus came to slay her, he dared not meet her eyes. Even in death, she was potent: from her severed neck emerged Pegasus, a winged spirit of freedom - proof that from the darkest spells, new life can rise.
Medusa endures not as a villain, but as a sigil of defiance, transformation, and the raw, alchemical power of the feminine divine(and rage!). She is every woman who has been blamed, silenced, or feared - and turned it into sorcery.
