Gift Boxes

Launching in 2025, the Smith & Sun gift boxes are offerings, vessels for intention, to awaken the senses, stir the spirit, and forge connection. Available in three tiers, each box holds a collection of treasures, from subtle charms to potent talismans, designed to infuse life with a little bit of magick. 

To start with I'm making 6 boxes. If these connect to people, I'll make more in 2026. 

Grounding: Small Size 

In this box you will find a charged starbrary quartz, a sterling silver wrapped ring (UK Size R 1/2), a black clay vase and five cones of incense.

If you’re seeking a master healer crystal, I highly recommend this starbrary quartz. This cosmic communicator is rich with glyphs, etchings, encoded wisdom and little kisses from the sun. The sterling silver ring carries a subtle, reflective energy that resonates with the moon, intuition, and the inner self. Often used in ritual or worn with gemstones, silver is believed to amplify protective, healing, and purifying energies, making it a powerful ally for meditation, spiritual practice, or everyday mindfulness. The incense cones are sandlewood, frankincense, lavender and a few drops of snake oil.

The black clay vessels are perfect for popping a burning palo santo stick in or some dried plant dried. I tend to pop my off cuts of Eucalyptus in ours. 

Cleansing: Medium Size

In this box you will find our bronze matchbox case with vintage matches, home made incense, ethically sourced palo santo, a protective badge and a tumbled black tourmaline that's been on our alter for a few weeks.

Our illumine coffer matchbox is the centre piece of this offering, a ritual tool for spiritual connection, cleansing and meditation. Murklins means “in the darkness,” a word now considered obsolete since the 1800s, once used to describe actions or happenings in the dark. It’s a fitting name for this lifelong ritual item - a hand-carved matchbox stamped with astrological symbols. The box is cast in bronze, a metal celebrated for its beauty, ritual potency, and historical use in mirrors. It’s especially connected to Leo, and also resonates with Gemini and Virgo. Please note: the actual matches are available at our Margate store (vintage Belgian hot pink & yellow ones), but we can only post the matchbox itself (UK postal laws zzzz).

And you know I’m a huge fan of the tumbled black T’s. It’s a formidable super cleanser that grounds, empowers, and protects. This stone dispels dark energies while inviting in positivity, attracting luck and prosperity. It has the remarkable ability to cut through spiralling thoughts, helping you listen to and trust your instincts. For those who struggle with anxiety (as I do from personal experience), it serves as a perfect shield against energy vampires.

The wooden badge was drawn by me, a known sigil, The "Fear No Foe" talisman is a magical sigil (often seen alongside another) featured in Reginald Scot's 1584 book,The Discoverie of Witchcraft, intended for protection against enemies and ill-will ('Who so beareth this sign about him, let him fear no foe, but fear God’).

Offering: Large size

In this box you will find our snake oil in frosted black, a tincture with hand-carved bronze lid, a handmade black clay vase, small rutilated quartz pendant, a crystal of my choosing,  two astral bangles (one thick, one thin), a naga badge, and some excellent and most delicious frankincense.

Our snake oil comes in a black frosted (10 ml) refillable vial with calming essential oils and the hand-carved lids are cast in bronze. 

• Base oil: Hemp, avocado, evening primrose, pumpkin seed, flax, coconut and jojoba.
• Magick oils foraged in Margate: Nettle (leaf and seed), dandelion and elderflower.
• Essential oils: Rose, Australian sandlewood, Virginia cedarwood, patchouli, Sainte Victoire lavender, Italian bergamot, frankincense (botswallia frerena and sacra).

The tincture (25 ml) is a collaboration between Smith & Sun and Clapton Botanica Apothecary, who worked with us to create three offerings: heartease (when feeling heartbroken, hopelessness, during testing times); energy mix (to feel awake, for stamina, to party, stimulating); no panic drops (during panic attacks, stress/anxiety moments, circular thinking). The small rutilated quartz pendant vibrates with high energy, bringing physical and mental balance, stability, and self-reliance. It strengthens willpower and helps release the past. Capped in sterling silver 925, this quartz - with its natural rutilated strands - is often called “The Hairs of Venus,” reminiscent of old lockets holding strands of hair from loved ones or used in spells.

The astral bangles include two unique bracelets of different properties. The fire oxidised copper bangle is a wonderful healing and lucky metal. Copper conducts spiritual energy between individuals, crystals, the mind, and the spirit world. It grounds and transfers vibrational frequencies from the spiritual to the physical, linking to the Divine and the attributes of the Queen of Heaven. Paired with other stones or metals, it is said to enhance their properties. I've paired it with brass, a powerful material to keep close. It’s said to bring balance to chaos, sharpen the mind, promote youthfulness and openness, and even help you master time.

A large master healer quartz crystal wand - so much to say about this (email me!) but they're both stunning (trust me).

Ethically sourced Frankincense (royal green and orange Hojari gathered directly from source), some coconut charcoal tabs for burning. Frankincense has incredible healing and purification properties. Promotes wisdom, courage, inner strength as well as acting as an aid to powerful spiritual connection with the Divine.

The Cosmos as encircled by the fiery Creative Spirit, aka a naga wooden badge drawn by me. Snakes represents creative life force: powerful, splendid, wonderful and proud. Moving forward with new ideas and values. Overcoming challenges more easily and finding the balance between duality and singularity. As snakes shed their skin through sloughing, they are symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing.
