A solid weighty bronze talisman, hand-carved on both sides — a serpent on one face, a moon and stars on the other — hung off a sterling silver box chain with a star-studded sterling shackle.

Cast in bronze, a metal prized across cultures for amplifying ritual and intention — and notably one of the earliest metals used to forge mirrors, reflecting both the outer world and the inner one. Bronze carries a warmth and weight that feels ancient in the hand, and it is particularly aligned with Leos, and associated with Gemini and Virgo.

The serpent is one of the oldest symbols of the creative life force: forward-moving, adaptive, navigating challenges with ease. On a deeper level it speaks to the balance between duality and unity — light and dark, above and below, self and world. Just as snakes shed their skin, they have long embodied rebirth, transformation, healing, and immortality. To wear one is to carry a quiet reminder that change is not an ending, but a beginning.

The reverse face tells a different story: the moon and stars, a counterpoint to the serpent's earthly energy. This piece is star-heavy by design. Sé wrote an entire PhD on asterisms — star patterns that sit outside the official constellation charts, more personal and subjective in their reading, shaped by the eye of the beholder rather than the decree of any authority. The stars we choose to connect are the stories we choose to tell. That spirit is stitched into this talisman, from the carved face down to the star-studded shackle it hangs from.
