WORKSHOPS
Smith & Sun offers hands-on casting workshops rooted in ancient metalworking traditions. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned maker, our intimate sessions guide you through the full process - from carving your design to pouring molten metal - leaving you with a truly one-of-a-kind piece to keep.
Rings of Septa: Cuttlefish Casting Step into the elemental craft of cuttlefish casting. Carve your design into cuttlebone, pour molten pewter, and watch your creation take shape. Each piece is entirely unique, shaped by the natural texture of the bone itself.
Perfect for groups (we've done birthday's or hen do's) and typically take place on a Sunday and run for three hours. £45/ person.
For the rest of 2026 we will have workshops on:
Sunday 1st of November (as part of Dead Good Festival)
Rings of Seolfor: Sand Casting Discover the alchemy of sand casting with silver. Shape your design with wax, press it into delft clay, and pour molten silver to bring your vision to life. This intimate workshop is designed for two, making it perfect for partners, friends, or collaborators who want to share a moment of making together. These workshops take place on Sundays for about four hours and each participant will leave with a ring or a pendant. £160/person.
